 About the trip

My name is Alexander Sewe and am a Norwegian and German citizen (double citizenship). In
2007 / 2008 i traveled around the world. The trip took a little over 5 months. Although the
trip is officially completed, I will still travel extensively in my vacations, so there will
be more articles posted here in the future.

My original plan was to sail solo around the world in a 27 foot seilboat, but a couple of
months before departure I decided to fly around the world instead.

Time is precious. If I had sailed around the world it would have taken 2 years and one of
those years would have been spent on the oceans. My sailboat had a max speed of around 15
km / h and a plane has an average speed of about 850 km / h so it is no need to wonder
which one is the faster :) So if your plan is to sail around the world, why not consider
 flying around the world instead?

The picture on top of this page was taken by me on Praslin Island, Seychelles with a
Canon 350D Digital SLR with a Sigma 70-300 mm Macro APO DG lens.

You can see more of the pictures I have taken around the world in "the destinations"
